Privacy Policy
Effective November 8, 2026
The short version: Lapback has no accounts and doesn't ask for your name, email or contacts. Your scores and progress stay on your phone. The only data that leaves your device is what Google's ad service and Apple's App Store need in order to show ads and process purchases.
This policy explains how the Lapback mobile game ("Lapback", "the app") handles information. Lapback is made by Elex Auerbach, an independent developer based in New York, USA ("I", "me").
Information the app keeps on your device
Your best scores, level, unlocked colors and maps, daily challenge streak and settings are saved only on your device. I can't see them and they are not sent to me. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Lapback is free and shows ads through Google AdMob: an optional video ad you can choose to watch to continue a run, and an occasional ad between games. To show and measure ads, Google may collect information from your device, such as:
- your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking, see below)
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- device type, operating system and app version
- how you interact with ads, and crash or performance information related to ads
Google uses this information under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Tracking permission on iPhone
The first time ads load, iOS asks whether Lapback may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your advertising identifier is not shared and you will still see ads, just less personalized ones. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Purchases
Lapback offers an optional one-time "Remove Ads" purchase. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. I never receive your payment details; the app only receives confirmation from Apple that the purchase was made so it can turn off the between-games ads.
What I don't do
- I don't ask for or collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- I don't sell your personal information.
- The app has no chat, accounts or social features where you share information with other players.
Children
Lapback is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact me and I will help have it removed.
Your choices and rights
You can limit ad tracking with the iOS tracking setting above, reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, or stop all data collection by uninstalling the app. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have rights to access or delete personal information; because I don't hold personal information about you, requests about ad data are best directed to Google, but I'm happy to help.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the effective date above.
